Molecular formula
Chemical name	α-cyclopropyl-α-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidinemethanol
Classification	Plant growth regulator / Agrochemical
Biochemistry	Gibberellin synthesis inhibitor.
Mode of action	Absorbed by the leaves and roots, with translocation in the phloem. Inhibits internode elongation.
Uses	To reduce internode elongation, to produce more compact plants. It has activity on a wide range of glasshouse plant species and is effective on most plants when applied to either foliage or soil. Foliar application rates for bedding plants 6 to 66 ppm, for bedding plant plugs 3-35 ppm, for flowering/foliage plants 20-50 ppm, for bulb crops 25-50 ppm.
Mammalian Toxicology	Oral: Acute oral LD50 for rats 5000 mg/kg.   Skin and eye: Acute percutaneous LD50 for rabbits >200 mg/kg. Moderate eye irritant; mild skin irritant (rabbits).   Inhalation: LC50 (4 h) in rats: no deaths (poor grooming) at 5.6 mg/l air.
